Anticancer.ca a Hot Topic at UofT Faculty of Medicine Showcase

The Anticancer.ca team played an impressive part in this year’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine Research Showcase at the University of Toronto! Anticancer research was in the spotlight once again with Aria Panchal’s research symposium on the anticancer effects of EGCG, a common ingredient in green tea (learn more about EGCG on our website).

As well, Katerina Carrozzi gave poster session attendees an in-depth analysis of the anticancer properties of indole-3-carbinol and sulforaphane, two major biomolecules in cruciferous vegetables (check out the full articles: Indole-3-Carbinol and Sulforaphane).

Rounding out the poster session, Adin Aggarwal talked about the cancer-killing effects of curcumin, the active ingredient of turmeric, a popular spice in an abundance of South Asian curries (you can read more about curcumin here).

Lastly, but certainly not least, our scientific lead Dr. Kenneth Yip was featured in the Career Coffee Chats, giving conference attendees valuable insights on how to build careers in cancer research and academia!
